We are delighted to share the following news about The Women's College with your school. Information in this newsletter will showcase to your Year 12 students everything about university residential living at The Women's College.

Since 1914, The Women’s College has supported young women through its Bursaries and Scholarships program by offering financial assistance to residents as they pursue their field of study at university in Brisbane.

In total, we have 55 bursaries and scholarships on offer for 2024, so 1 in 5 Women's residents will receive financial assistance to offset their College fees. We encourage future residents to see the range of bursaries and scholarships that are on offer, and to check the criteria to see if they qualify.

Further details about this program and how future residents can apply are available on our website, along with our Financial Assistance brochure, which has information about our Bursaries and Scholarships program.

Note: Future residents of The Women's College need to submit an application for residency in 2024 and pay their deposit prior to applying for the Bursaries and Scholarships program. The closing dates for The Women's College Bursaries and Scholarships program are:

• Bursary applications close Friday 29 September 2023
• General scholarship applications close Friday 15 December 2023
• Financial-need scholarship applications close Friday 15 December 2023

Eight scholarships within the UQ Residential Scholarships Scheme are available to future residents of The Women’s College. These scholarships are:

• 33rd UQ Senate Create Change Residential Scholarship
• Dorothy Marsden Undergraduate Scholarship
• Dr Maureen Aitken Undergraduate Scholarship
• Flannery Foundation Residential Residential Scholarship
• JD Adams Memorial Scholarship
• Jill Fittock Harrison Women's College Scholarship
• John Martin OAM Residential Scholarship
• R.D Arida Residential Scholarship

These scholarships offer financial support to subsidise accommodation fees. For further details about each scholarship and how to apply, visit the UQ's Residential Scholarship Scheme page.
 
Applications for these scholarships open on Friday 25 August 2023 and close on Monday 29 January 2024.

As students start to think about their university plans, it’s also timely to consider their university accommodation. Beyond the practicality of living in a convenient, secure and comfortable location so close to UQ and the public transport hub to other universities, life at The Women’s College offers a supportive and seamless transition into the very best university experience.
